Symbols, Conflict, and Identity

Director of Research Cathy Buerger will be speaking on this panel, which explores the roles and functions of hate speech and contested symbols in (post)conflict societies. The presentations look into the various manifestations of the aforementioned phenomena, such as through muralization, heroization, resistance, and counter initiatives. Looking at examples from different cultural contexts and based on diverse approaches, the panelists provide insight into the ways in which conflict, memory, and identity are articulated and enacted.Hosted by Fond za humanitarno pravo.Mar 21, 2023 12:00 PM EST | VirtualRegister here: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_gNdRdPC7Sc6pDNTLOUctOA?timezone_id=America%2FNew_York
