To better understand rhetoric that justifies and even inspires violence, a team of Bangladeshi professors and students collected and analyzed 124 examples of dangerous speech that circulated in their country in 2021. Working with colleagues at the Dangerous Speech Project, they analyzed the distinctive characteristics, messages, and sociopolitical contexts through which such speech build support for collective violence against different groups in Bangladesh. In this report, we introduce their findings.
